An interior designed to appeal to the masses 20 years ago but now seems a bit dark and foreboding. A simple single room with a long bar. Noted a pool table, a smattering of padded banquettes, a stripped wood floor that felt like it was missing a carpet and a nice old Drybrough brewery mirror. Selection of papers in a rack, always a nice touch. A dire TV music channel helped kill the atmosphere stone dead and made my mind up about the place. A long bar with one ale, yet again it was the Swannay Scarpa Special which was in decent shape (a surprise). Feels like this one needs a bit of a rethink and a few quid thrown at it. There’s potential. 4.5
