David Ross left this review about King Lud

This is a rather odd looking pub, with an unusually dark interior and fairy lights and various musical instruments around the walls. The bar room is an irregular L-shape with a horseshoe bar and small recesses in the walls. There was a TV showing horse racing, a juke box and games machines. The separate lounge next door was closed on the Friday evening of my visit. Prices were very reasonable, with a pint of Tennent's lager costing me only £3.00. Tennent's Light, Bud Light, Caledonia Best, Guinness and Blackthorn and Magner's ciders were also on draught. The King Lud is the only surviving pub in Craigneuk, although there are many others not far away in Motherwell or Wishaw.
