David Ross left this review about Hemingways

Described on the windows as “Hemingways Music Bar,” this is an unusual pub architecturally, with a circular main bar room featuring a mirrored central column and a wheel design on the ceiling. The music was provided by the oldest Karaoke presenter I’ve ever seen, singing Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra songs rather than the usual more modern ones. The clientele was of mixed age, however, including some young people heading for the nearby disco. The usual range of draught beers are available at reasonable prices. A couple of photographs of Ernest Hemingway on the walls provide the only obvious connection to its name. There is also a small lounge to the side which was empty, despite the bar itself being busy.
