The hanging sign outside the Eagle Inn calls the pub ‘The Olde Eagle Inn’. Maybe that was an old name for it. Still listed though as the Eagle Inn.

The fact that the sign outside now says “Neil’s Bistro at The Eagle” tells you most of what you need to know. The former traditional, if rather down at heel, pub has been transformed into a modern bar/diner with bright lighting, loud music and a generally plastic look. The usual range of draught beers is available and there is a substantial beer garden at the back. Regular tribute bands/singers, Karaoke sessions and acoustic “nites” suggest plenty of activity, but I found it very bland and lacking in character.
