I am from Carluke and come into the thackit regular with my boyfriend and my family members.
It has recently been redecorated which is now finished and its looking very homely.
From my experience and from others I have met in the pub have said that they have felt extremely welcomed and it has been
Classed as a COMMUNITY pub ...
The karaoke and live bands at the weekend bring in a mixture of all ages who all seem to interact with each other, bringing everyone together.
I highly recommend young/old/couples and families to join into a great atmosphere.

Currently in the process of redecoration and smelling of paint, the Wee Thackit remains substantially the same as it was on my previous visit. There are bar and lounge areas within the same room, served from the same bar and separated only by a half ceiling height partition. The lounge section is only slightly less basic than the bar, but did contain the only three female customers among the twenty or so present. On draught are Tennent’s Special (at £2.90 a pint), Tennent’s Lager, Tennent’s Light, Belhaven Best, Carling Lager, Fosters Lager, Guinness and Strongbow cider. A decent enough pub, but really much more appealing looking from the outside than it is inside.

This small pub looks quaint from the outside at Carluke Cross on the one way High Street. Okay inside for the male customer, but not a place to take the wife or girlfriend for a night out. The place seems more like a local working mans pub. The barman looked like he had come straight from watching a football game. Tracksuit tops in my opinion do not give a good opinion of any pub. No food available except crisps and nuts (The edible type). There were plenty of televisions on view considering the size of the place.

No longer “thackit” (thatched), but still wee, this is a quaint little pub at Carluke Cross, although the seven TV screens ranged around the walls detract somewhat from the “olde worlde” image. It’s a popular and busy local, so it tends to get very crowded at peak times due to its small size.

Actually called 'The wee Thackett'. Nice traditional male pub. Decent pint as well.
