The refurbishment prior to its recent re-opening seems to have been quite cheaply done and the new Cheers still has a bit of an unfinished appearance. In the bar, seating is only around the walls and a pool table takes up most of the space in the middle of the floor. It's all rather bare looking and the bright lighting and loud music don't help. The adjoining lounge looks slightly more comfortable, but not much. It can't be faulted on price, though, at £2.60 for a pint of Tennents lager. Also on draught are Tennents Special, Belhaven Best Guinness and Magners cider.

"Cheers" became "The Nip Inn" for a while, but is currently closed and showing no signs of revival.
