David Ross left this review about Wilson Arms

Located on the ground floor of a concrete block, with shops beside it and flats above, and with only a narrow line of frosted windows along the top of the front wall, this looks uninviting from the street. Inside, however, it was a pleasant surprise, with a cosy and friendly atmosphere and comfortable seating and surroundings. Being away from the town centre, the customers were mainly local regulars who all seemed to know each other and the bar staff. I didn’t feel out of place as a stranger, though. There are two TV screens, a games machine, a pool table and a dart board and singers some nights. Tennents lager, light and special are on draught, as are Caledonia Best, Guinness and Olde English cider.
