Old Boots left this review about MacNabs Inn @The Royal Hotel

Two pulls, just an ordinary Skye Red on one, the other was blank, plus a forest of keg fonts. Pool table, two screens, lively down to earth punters, the jukebox was never silent on my short visit. I watched the fun from a raised area at one end, where the dartboard is and near the machines.

Will Larter left this review about MacNab's Inn (The Royal Hotel)

The bar of the Royal Hotel styles itself MacNab's Inn after a real old pub of that name which used to stand on the site, according to a history seen on the wall inside. The modern hotel bar has a corner entrance, next to a pizzeria, and also a door connecting it internally with the rest of the hotel. It's a fairly stylish modern bar with a wooden floor and a raised area near the front windows, for diners to look down on passers-by. Two hand pumps adorn the bar, with two beers from Cuillin Brewery at Sligachan: Pinnacle and Black Face. I've never been too impressed by the product of this brewery, but it's got to be said that their beers are a lot better than the dross that the Scottish national giants turn out (Tennents, McEwans, Belhaven: it's you I mean). It's good to see this one added to Portree's burgeoning real ale scene.
