This village pub in the Cornish village of Bugle is largely unchanged from the review below. Interestingly the pub takes its name from the bugles used in the days of horse drawn stagecoaches and came first as as coach stop, with the village forming later around and taking its name from the pub.
Internally it looks like it was formerly two separate public and saloon room set up but today is one L shaped space around the central bar with the left hand space set to tables and the right hand space with pool table and dart board.
Three St Austell ales were on for our visit in the shape of Tribute , Cornish Best and Hicks and the couple we tried were well kept. We came here to eat and there is a fairly standard pub food menu available.
This is a friendly locals pub with good service levels. The only real issue we found is that it’s not the biggest of pubs and it’s difficult to escape the locals engaged in vertical drinking around the bar.

Pleasant one bar local at village crossroads. Typical stone walling with traditional furnishings and decorations and featuring a pool table. At the back is a small decked patio. St Austell beers with Tribute and Cornish Best on draught.
