David Ross left this review about Stanley Bar

Surrounded by decrepit looking warehouses, abandoned buildings and gap sites, this pub might appear derelict from outside. Inside, though, it’s pleasant enough, consisting of a single bar room, with a small slightly plusher area to one side which could be called a lounge. An acoustic guitar propped up in the corner is for use on its occasional musical evenings. The walls are decorated with Celtic and Irish memorabilia, including the words of “The Soldier’s Song,” An old black and white photograph of a dray horse delivering beer barrels to the pub suggests that it’s been there for some time. Prices are very reasonable, with a pint of Caledonia Best costing only £2.40. Choice is limited, though, with only Guinness, Tennent’s lager and Strongbow cider also on draught.
