David Ross left this review about The Real Mackay

On an early Friday evening, coming in here felt like stepping back in time to the 1970s. It was packed with customers, 95% of whom were male, mostly looking as if they’d just finished some kind of factory work. It consists of a single, irregularly shaped room with an L-shaped bar which made getting served easy despite the fact that several people were standing or sitting at it. There’s a dart board, games machines and two TV screens, which were both showing horse racing. I had a pint of Tartan Special, which is something of a rarity in West of Scotland pubs these days, costing £2.80. McEwan’s Export, Guinness and Tennent’s and Fosters lagers are also on draught.
