David Ross left this review about The Old Quarry Bar

Last time I was in here, admittedly about 25 years ago, I was served by former Celtic player and Lisbon Lion, Bobby Murdoch. Things have changed since then, as it’s now very conspicuously a “Rangers pub.” This is evident before you even cross the threshold as it’s painted blue and white and has a Union flag flying from the roof. Inside, photos of Rangers players, and one of the Queen, hang on the walls, as do more, smaller flags. The illuminated coloured glass panels above the bar displaying the names of famous ex-players (Baxter, Laudrup, Gascoigne etc.) indicate that this isn’t a passing whim. The small snug at the back is called “Davie Cooper’s Snug” and decorated with pictures of the late former player. A pool table, with blue baize, is in one corner. There is also a smaller lounge at one side which is less obviously football orientated. While the football affiliation may have changed, the main bar retains a traditional, old fashioned look with a horseshoe bar and a few nooks and crannies to sit in. The usual staples are available on draught and prices are reasonable. All in all, this is quite a nice pub, although some people would obviously be put off by the décor.
