David Ross left this review about The Millcroft

I remember this as the “New Orleans” from when I attended a wedding reception in the upstairs function suite many years ago. That’s still there, as are the street level lounge and bar. In the latter, a pint of Tennent’s lager cost me £2.65 and Belhaven Best, Guinness, Tennent’s Special, Carling lager and Strongbow cider are also on draught. The bar is a regular, oblong shape with plenty of seating and three TV screens, a payphone and a cash machine. It’s a rather bland pub, though, and not somewhere to seek out particularly as there are numerous better alternatives nearby.
