ALASTAIR BARTER left this review about The Douglas Arms

Very much a locals pub here - had a pint of John Smiths for £3.15 yesterday which is very reasonable. And as the previous reviewer said, there's Tartan Special on draught, along with all the standard for sale. Very busy when I was there.

David Ross left this review about The Douglas Arms

Despite the aristocratic connotations of its name (the Douglas-Home family once owned half of Lanarkshire), this is the most down to earth pub in Bothwell. Its rivals are mainly up-market food orientated lounges and hotel bars, but the Douglas Arms is much more typical of industrial Lanarkshire, with football on TV, games machines, customers drinking and no food in sight. Prices are also more reasonable than elsewhere in the village, with Foster’s lager selling at £3.05 a pint. Kronenberg and Amstel lagers, Tartan Special, John Smith’s bitter and Guinness are also on draught. An unused hand pump suggests that a real ale was also once available. A very pleasant pub and if you’re looking to escape from a wedding reception at the Bothwell Bridge Hotel across the road, this is the place to go
