David Ross left this review about Chapmans

The only pub in Gartcosh is rather inconveniently located at the southern extremity of the village and is separated from most of it by the M73 motorway, although it is close to the railway station. The entrance is at the back, although it is well signposted from the on street frontage where you might expect it to be. Chapmans consists of a good sized, split level bar/lounge with an adjoining restaurant and a tarmac outdoor seating area. The dark wood panelling and furniture is complemented by maroon padded seats around the walls and there are attractive stained glass panels in the windows. A tiny stage in one corner provides a platform for live music (so long as it’s performed by no more than a duo) and the advertised Saturday night karaoke sessions. The pool table in the middle of the floor is covered in blue baize, although there are no other indications of any particular football affiliation. It was fairly quiet on the Friday afternoon I dropped in, with only four other customers. A pint of Caledonia Best cost me £2.50, which is very reasonable considering the absence of competition. Guinness, Tennent’s Special, Tennent’s lager, Stella Artois and Magner’s cider are also on tap, as are two wines.
