Simply put Swing is a great wee place - its not a traditional or even a modern bar, its very much its own animal. Situated at the top end of Hope Street (opposite(ish) the Pot Still) Swing can almost be missed as it is only advertised by a narrowish black entrance. Access to Swing is down a set of stairs to the split level bar area where you will find an art-deco inspired 1920s style bar with small cabaret-style tables. Tables I assume (although Im not 100%) need to be booked as when we arrived all tables had a "reserved" tab on them but we were told we could sit there till 9pm which was good enough for us. As noted the bar is split level and the loweer level is a stage where singers (Jazz) dancers and acrobats perform. The Art Deco bar is on the far side as you enter as is well stocked with spirits, not so well stocked with beers though - saying that I got a really lovely pint of a new Bellhaven beer (no real ales) it also has a limited cocktail list but staff will make up cocktails "off list" for you.Bar staff and management (who welcome you on entry) are VERY friendly and helpful. There are also some basic bar snacks. This isn't really a pub as such for searching out a great pint/ spirit/wine etc, but what it does offer is a unique entertainment experience and a great night out, and for that alone its worth 10/10 - but for drinks etc I'll drop that to an 8/10. Well worth a visit for a different night out.
