A Dunfermline Athletic pub and the ‘oldest pub in Dunfermline’. Enter to a corridor with the main bar to the right which features a lovely boxed ceiling, carved roses in the wood panelling at the bar, massive McEwans mirror and a stained glass bar back. There’s also a blander rear room. Massive screen with Jeff Stelling getting animated over the afternoon’s footy results. No ale here, just Punk IPA on keg and a selection of craft in the fridge. It’s OK for Dunfermline but could and should be better.

The "oldest pub in Dunfermline", and situated in the old part of town near the abbey, but once inside it could be any sports bar in Scotland. There were two TVs and a drop-down projector screen showing two different European football matches at the time of my visit. On the bar are the usual Scottish fonts, with BrewDog Punk IPA and Caledonian Deuchars IPA the only changes from standard. Although the Deuchars is real ale, this is not a pub I would go out of my way to visit again.

A great traditional pub. The place was very quiet when I visited, maybe not to wake the dead who are in the graveyard across the road. Don't let this put one off, well worth more than a short visit.

Old Inn left this review about The Old Inn

The Old Inn is Dunfermline’s oldest pub and the birthplace of Dunfermline Athletic Football Club (The Pars) it is situated in the centre of Dunfermline, right in between Dunfermline City Chambers, Dunfermline Town Clock and the famous Dunfermline Abbey. The Old Inn is more than just a great pub, it is steeped in local history dating back to the 1800’s and was the first Coaching Inn of its kind in Scotland and the original gantry has been preserved and is still in use today.
