Will Larter left this review about Scotch Hop

Following a recent refurbishment there are now three hand pumps on the bar, serving Harviestoun Bitter & Twisted, Caledonian Deuchars IPA and another blonde beer whose name didn't make it as far as my notebook. There's a motor sport theme, with photos scattered about and an astonishing wooden model of a pre-WWI racing car - a sort of cartoon version of a car rather than anything attempting authenticity. There was a dedicated group of smokers in the doorway, and inside there was a lively atmosphere, though it was noticeable when I was here with my daughter on a recent Saturday night that she was the only woman in the place. Some of the furnishings (tables, light fittings, a Red Indian chief) looked as though they could have been scrounged from some of the local junk shops, or perhaps they were bought with a view to fitting in with the sort of stuff you can pick up locally. While it's a welcome change to see hand pumps appearing in a fairly ordinary locals bar like this, I can't see myself coming here again for a real ale when there are several really good options within five minutes' walk.

William Purnell left this review about Wayside

The Wayside, a Greene King/Belhaven pub, used to be called Minders. The pub is still operating although the lease is available.
