David Ross left this review about Arctic Bar

Despite the modern exterior and the name, this is a quaint and cosy little city centre pub, located up an alleyway off the High Street. The name refers not to the temperature inside, but to Dundee's connection to Arctic explorer Captain Scott. The walls are decorated with maps of the Arctic, drawings of his ship "Discovery," display cases of sailors' knots and other seafaring paraphernalia. There is a pool table in the "Ice Bar" next to the main bar and beers on draught include McEwan's 80 Shilling, John Smith's, Guinness and Tennents and Kronenburg lager.
