Quinno _ left this review about The Flesher's Arms

Named the Fleshers due to a long-gone slaughterhouse being located nearby and I wondered if the decaying exterior was part of the gag (however it looks like it's being addressed). Recently re-done interior, another grey gloop job but the seating area is quite intimate and was occupied by a bunch of folk musicians having a jam along with some appreciative punters who’d come along for some free tunes. Three cask, 2x Five Kingdoms and Tempest with a good range. My Calm Before the Storm was in good nick (NBSS 3.5) and the Tempest Modern Helles even better (4), served-up a by a friendly and chatty landlady who was previously in charge of the nearby Tam O’Shanter. Probably got lucky in the timing as everything was rapidly ticking over at an hour during midweek where usually it'd be quiet, but you play the hand you're dealt and I had a cracking time - my pub of the day in this pretty town. 8.5

Bar to left with space to right. Pool table to rear. Usual keg rubbish on sale.
