Dropped in to check whether cask Bass is still a thing (it isn't, Theakston XB is the sole cask). Pretty basic/rustic interior; flagstone floor, whitewashed stone walls (though the ceiling is very modern plasterboard), shutters on the windows and various live music posters for gigs long passed. The wonderful coal fire was not making much impression, mainly because the doors didn't shut properly and had a sizeable gap underneath – with it facing the river, you’d think they’d get a chippy in to get that fixed. The sole cask (Theakston XB) was aged and on its last legs (NBSS 2). That said, it's atmospheric enough to warrant a quick nose if you have the day to spare. 5.5

The Coach and Horses is a one roomed former coaching inn with whitewashed walls,a low ceiling and a smart flagged floor. Called in around 11am on a Tuesday and found the Landlady friendly and although not the greatest beer choice in the world agree with Rob about the good condition of the Bass pale Ale.
There is quite a good range of live music on here at weekends and I think a folk night on the last Thursday of every month.Quite liked it in here and if ever in the area again will make a return visit.

Nice little flag floored pub with a tiny bar that only had draught Bass on. It was a very well kept pint though. It was pretty cold in here, so we only stayed for one as the other half needed warmth. Not bad.
