High Society, Maybole

The old building in which High Society is contained looks out of place in the modern housing scheme surrounding it and it was also surprising to find the most trendy and up-market pub in town in this out of the way location. It is obviously geared to cater for a more youthful clientele than the other, more traditional, pubs in Maybole, with a spacious bar/lounge along the front of the building and a sizeable games room around a corner to the rear. Predictably, it’s also the most expensive, with Guinness at £3.10 a pint. Other draught options are Caffrey’s Stout, Tennent’s and Fosters lagers and Strongbow Original and Dark Fruit cider. I was only here for half an hour in the early evening, but I imagine this gets quite lively later on at the weekends.
