The Lochavullin sits opposite the exit from the Tesco etc shopping area. Very traditional local pub that serves Caledonian Best, Tennent’s Lager, Heverlee, Magners strongbow & Guinness. There is a pool table, darts & a jukebox. No Sky television. The walls are adorned with Shinty pictures.

David Ross left this review about Lochavullin Bar

Being a short distance away from the usually tourist-thronged town centre hostelries, this is very much an Oban locals' pub. There is a separate lounge and bar, the latter having two TVs, two dart boards, a juke box and games machines. The music playing, at fairly high volume, included Bob Dylan and Neil Young, which reflected the middle aged to elderly age range of the clientele. This isn't a complaint, as it includes me. My pint of McEwan's Export cost £3, which was the cheapest pint I found in town except in the Wetherspoons. Tennent's lager, Guinness and Magner's and Strongbow ciders were also on tap. The Lochavullin is OK, but not really worth leaving the town centre for unless you really want to get away from the tourists.
