The Balmoral Inn has the bar situated to the right up a few steps as one enters the building. An easy to miss place as its up a side street. Turn uphill past Norrie’s chip shop. The inn is now painted for the past few years a very bright red. Nothing has changed on the drink menu, same as the earlier review, Guinness, Tennent's lager, Stella Artois, Caledonia Best and Magners cider are still on draught.

The Balmoral Inn, which is the name of the bar itself, remains much as I found it five years ago. It's the same rough and ready pub that it was then and doesn't appear to have changed at all. Guinness now sells at £3.30 a pint and Tennent's lager at £3.10. Stella Artois, Caledonia Best and Magners cider are also on draught. The sign behind the bar saying "Soup of the Day - Lager" is a good indicator of the Inn's philosophy.

This is like the Tardis is reverse, as it looks quite substantial from the outside but is tiny inside. It’s actually part of the Balmoral Hotel, but you wouldn’t think so. The very basic bar was full of drunk people when I visited, and that was on a Monday night. Given the variety of drinking options available in Oban, this is not somewhere I could recommend.
