This is a cottage styled terraced pub and eatery at the heart of Polperro. The pub is in white painted rough stone with black paintwork around the central doorway and the window shutters. There is a nice roof terrace area as well.

The interior is an L-shaped room around the wood serving bar. The decor is a mix of exposed stone, cream painted wood panel and black wood panel, with a black wood and black beam ceiling and a mix of stone and red carpet on the floor. There are a couple of stone fireplaces at either end of the pub and a mix of photos and prints on the walls of fishing, the sea and the harbour. It is mainly set out with tables and chairs for diners - it didn't eat here so can't comment on that, but it looked a decent menu - sea food and Thai mainly There was a TV, but this was not on at my visit and the background music was quiet and mixed. There is a dart board. The service was fine and there was a busy and mixed clientele, with most eating - but clearly there were locals in too.

Beer; usual tap stuff with Old Rosie cider. On handpull there was St Austell Tribute, Sharpe's doombar and Sharpe's Own. The Doombar and Own were very good.

A decent enough place. As a real ale drinker it was great to see Sharpe's Own as doombar and Tribute are ubiquitous beers in this region. Probably at it's best when eating, or ejoying the patio on a summer day. Worth a visit without doubt.

This is Polperro's oldest pub, which has an extensive lunchtime and evening food menu.In the winter a log fire is on the go,and recently a new terrace has been added at the rear providing a supurb vista overlooking the harbour Certainly worth a visit, but beware anyone above 5ft 6in watch your head on the low doorways and beams they are extremely low.Good pub this you will enjoy it.
