Soup Dragon left this review about Joiners Arms

This is a detached pub with a beer garden and kid's play area. It is a Victorian pub at least, although it has a touch of the Georgian about it. The name is interesting, as there was a saw-pit over the road (to the rear) from the pub in the 1880s - the road has since changed and now runs in front of the pub. Anyhow, the pub is in coffee render, with some black paintwork. The interior had a couple of rooms, although i only saw the front bar. This room was in coffee and brown, with a green ceiling and carpet. It had a dart board (pool was advertised - so i assume it was in the other room). The TV had general programmes on and there was no music. Flags of the home nations countries decorated the ceiling. The service was fine and there was one other person in. Beer; no real ale, although there were handpulls - so just the usual keg stuff - i had half of shandy. Nothing for the real ale fan.
