Soup Dragon left this review about Newmarket Inn

A tidy and slightly irregular shaped corner pub and live music venue with attractive hanging baskets. The upper half is in a cream/yellow render with the lower half in undressed stone, with yellow rendered stone around the doors and windows. The old main entrance is now blocked.

The interior is a straight room of two halves in respect that to the right of the entrance is a bar, with a dart board and a pool table, whereas to the felf is less like a lounge than a cafe, with the style of tables, as well as sofas. The decor is yellow walls, with a beam and wood panel ceiling and a wood floor, with a stone fireplace at one end. There was a piano as well. There is a TV, which was not on at my visit and the background music was general and at a decent level. The service was really friendly and i had a good chat to the landlady, mainly as only one other person came in whilst i was there, which was early on a Saturday en route home from holiday.

Beer; usual tap stuff with an ok Wychwood Hobgoblin on handpull.

I felt quite comfy here. The beer on offer is common in the midlands, so i wasn't that excited about it. It has the pub games. I was more than happy to pop in for a swifty.
