Soup Dragon left this review about The Bear Inn

A nice detached pub with small extension, with patio area. The building is certainly Victorian (likely older) and was certainly a pub by the 1870s, although there were buildings andoining it to the coffee shop next door, which was also a pub back in the 1870s. Those buildings had disappeared by 1920, leaving the place looking as it does today. It is a cottage styled pub in general, with three upper-sash windows and two lower, flanking the door. It is in cream render. The interior has three areas. The small annex is a restaurant, which i didn't really see. The main pub has two rooms. You enter the main bar room, which is in white and wood, with a large fireplace feature, with sofas around it. Mixed pictures were on the walls and sport was on the TV. Through a doorway and there is a lounger/food room, which is in white. The carvery serving area was covered over. There is a dart board and the TV wasn't on. Some indentures are on the walls for interest. There was no music. The service was friendly and the place rammed out with holidaymakers and locals. Beer; usual tap stuff with Doombar, Wye Valley Bitter (decent) and Tomas Watkin's OSB bitter (decent). A really good place to kick of Soupy's tour of the Gower (i hadn't even got to the Gower at this stage!). I could have stayed here far longer. Worth a visit if around.
