The only real ‘boozer’ left in town. This old Banks pub is made up of two rooms, a large front area and a rear snug as well as an upstairs dining room. The front room is the locals hangout with TV football on the go. The rear snug is pretty decent with a wood and glass panel divider, tile flooring and fabric banquette. Three ales on from the Marstons portfolio; Thwaites Wainwright, a house beer of unknown provenance and a rather superb Banks Amber (NBSS 4). I quite enjoyed myself and it was the best of the three pubs this visit. 6.5

Small corner three room B&B hotel that has a ground floor bar and upstairs dining room with fine views of the estuary.
The bar is a bit basic as described below but the bar does support five ale handpumps. Four of these were going for my visit including Banks Bitter and Mild, Jennings Cumberland and one of the seasonal brews from the Marstons stable.
The Jennings was kept OK but would only contemplate doing it again if I could bag one of the outside benches on a fine weather day

This Banks's outlet is a bit more basic than the Brain's competition but is pleasant enough. It's a single square room with the bar on the left and what looked like fake slate flooring. There was a roaring fire on the front wall. I got the impression that there may be something else upstairs. The bar had five hand pumps with one unused, Banks's Mild & Bitter and Admiral Herkules plus finally a house beer called Brit Ale which is almost certainly one of the poorer Marston's offerings that has been rebadged,
I went for the mild (£2.80) which was in good nick.
It's not a bad place but is really nothing to get excited about.

Good position in centre of town overlooking seafront. Had a good pint of jennings as a guest ale otherwise only Brains on draft. Why oh why don't pubs in wales support micro breweries?
Dogs welcome.
