Steve C left this review about Shakespeare Inn

The entrance to the Shakespear leads from the right to the mosaic tile floored bar area with serving counter on the rear wall that faces a row of tables and chairs. To the left is a split-level seating area with wooden flooring and an exposed brick wall with burner at the front and a raised seating area at the rear that had been cleaned with chairs on tables. This was at 20:30 and the pub wasn’t due to close until 23:00, I hate pubs that do this, no wonder it was empty. Premium keg and an option from Beavertown were available from the bar that supports two hand pumps, one of which was drawing Salopian’s Gold (decent) and the other was being used as a blue roll holder. There was no atmosphere and the staff were more interested in going home than bringing in more punters.

An L shaped pub, on my visit a band of raucous 20 something's enjoyed the front part with behaviour reminiscent of an episode of Gavin & Stacey while an over fifties group had fun in the long section of the L, this is what pubs are for - not being written about by old farts like myself- drink and enjoy life, you're a long time dead! Meantime there's two pumps, Tribute and Bombardier but nicely kept Tribute. Screens, machines and loud music from a Juke box, but an alive pub.

Very nice pub between the Pheasant and the Railway , its a long single room pub with lots of exposed brickwork and timbers , large TVs at each end of the pub and one behind the bar , the floor is a mixture of stone flagging and carpet , there is a pool room adjoining the far end of the main bar with an old fireplace and more exposed brickwork , the decor works very well , the service was quick and friendlly as were the locals who were very chatty , usual tap stuff plus Pedigree , Greene King IPA and i had a London Pride which was nice , i like it in here its a good little pub , only real complaint , a bit more imagination with the beer choice please !

A very traditional working mans pub, with patriotic customers, The beer is kept very well with most of the commercial Lagers and beer, friendly staff and locals very easy to get on with.
