A much more traditional boozer compared to the Lion, the interior has three areas - a telly station on the right, a main bar and then a small semi-lounge up a couple of steps. Quite a nice rustic ‘dated’ feel with traditional wood furnishings, black beams and undressed stone walls, along with the rarely-spotted fish tank all very 1977. Food available, curry-based stuff which sounded rather delicious. Three pumps with two ales on; GK OSH and a welcome sighting of Gower Gold (NBSS 4), served-up by a friendly barmaid. A number of local codgers and characters in situ and I would have been quite happy to stay in here for a few had I not been required to haul my sorry arse out of bed early for another day’s worth of Coast Path walking. 7.5

A traditional pub located towards one end of this pleasant village, it consists of a smallish front bar and a larger bar down a couple of steps at the rear. There is also a courtyard garden and a couple of picnic benches at the front. We didn’t inspect the menu, but a quick glance suggested that it offered a selection of “pub grub” dishes, as well as several curries which appeared to be something of a speciality.

Inside it has quite a traditional feel, even slightly dated perhaps. There are black beams on the ceiling and blue carpet on the floor, whilst the walls are mostly exposed stone with some wood panelling towards the front. A free-standing wood burning stove was in one corner and a further gas fire was at the front of the pub. There was a pool table at the rear as well as a shelf full of trophies and also a couple of fish tanks. Bench seating was around the perimeter, with an unusual gold coloured fabric.

Beers on tap were Felinfoel Double Dragon and Doom Bar, whilst a third pub appeared unused so there may on occasions be something else. Cider choice was disappointing with just Carling and Strongbow.
