Popped into the newly reopened The Lion a week or so ago. It seems to be a young person's pub, complete with Drum and base steadily thumping away in the background - constantly! I walked outside to the outdoor seating area, between The Lion and Pye Corner, hoping to escape the drone of the D&B. No such luck, there were speakers attatched to the outside walls! Still the staff and customers were friendly enough. Not my kind of pub really.

Update: pub appears to be open as of 3rd May 2022. They were advertising forthcoming events in the near future; didn't have time to call in, so no review.

Although it is the same building, there are 2 separate businesses here. A pub and a coffee republic/café. I found the pub to very welcoming and enjoyed Legless Cow from the Hillside brewery. Worth calling in.
