Quinno _ left this review about Somerset Arms

Very recently modernised corner pub (including some exterior steps that now lead to a wall!) with some renovations still ongoing during our visit. Two rooms off a corridor. We made a beeline for the main bar at the front where we had a go on the dart board whilst some locals got stuck into the X Factor (or some generic Saturday evening brain-mush). Real fire in here too, with modern banquettes and brightly lit. The rear room was very modern, lacking lived-in charm but well done. There is also apparently a pool room upstairs though I didn’t explore that far. A friendly welcome at the bar, Doombar (cold but good) and Pride available. Spanish football on a small screen here, presumably for the barflys entertainment. There was certainly a friendly atmosphere and we enjoyed our stay. An enjoyable local, if not exactly a destination stop.
