Large corner building. Enter to a stone bar area, then up steps to a bizarre split - a small dining area off left and a weird quasi-jungle area off right with sofas and skylight. GBG’22 listed with a couple of cask on the bar in the form of Courage Directors (NBSS 2.5) and Gower Gold (3) suffering a bit from a warm day and a lack of turnover on a mid-afternoon. Of note is the ‘Old New Mariners’ over the road, a shell of a building which functions as an unusual beer garden. Apparently it used to be the site of the pub, many years ago. 6.5

A warm welcome is waiting for any weary traveller who enters these premises. The Landlord and staff are really nice and take the time to speak with you and include you in the fun and merriment that erupts at random on a regular basis. The locals are all friendly and curious of newcomers and soon welcome you into their circles. There are 2 real ales available, well kept and good honest pub grub. There is also reasonably priced accommodation available for those who wish to stay in Laugharne and what better place to stay? If you are in the area, don't miss it.
