A nice if rather poshed-up old pub, retaining several separate rooms all opening onto the open plan bar. Very geared up for food but still welcoming to drinkers, and with plenty of space including a nice courtyard garden area behind. The ales were a little pedestrian, being York Guzzler and Theakstons Best, but were very well kept. The food is not cheap nor in particularly large portions but is very high quality.

A famous village pub, it's a multi room pub and restaurant with a snug, a public bar at the back, and a separate restaurant. It's dog and family friendly, serves meals at lunchtime and evenings and has its own car park. It also has free wifi but I couldn't get it to work. The tables in the snug and public bar are powered by massive church candles, the public bar has a brick built square bar, home to three handpumps on one face plus on a second face two apparantly only sometimes used. Black Sheep Bitter, Taylors Boltmaker and Rudgate Jorvik on sale on my visit. It has been restored after being owned by the infamous TV personalities, chef Richard Fox and actor Neil Morrisey, a period not without problems which now thankfully seem behind the pub now owned by rather up-market local chain Provenance Inns.

The Punch Bowl Inn is a traditional village inn located in the heart of Marton Cum Grafton, near Harrogate.
Dating back to the 16th century it still retains its old world charm and cosy character. The inn displays a wealth of beams & character open fires.
The Punch Bowl specialises in bringing its guests high quality food and drink with friendly service in comfortable and relaxed surroundings. It boasts a fabulous bar and tap room with five further areas each with their own fires, creating a pub of great individuality and character.
The classic British menus showcase the best local produce available from carefully selected suppliers, whilst the traditional bar is stocked with local beers, hand pulled ales and a considered wine list.
The bar also accommodates informal dining, with large wooden tables and roaring open fires.
Located on the first floor, the private dining room and coffee lounge provide two separate, sumptuous spaces: ideal for drinks and lunch or dinner.

A multi-roomed pub, in a small village, complete with old beams and half timbered internal dividing walls, the other walls are rough cast plastered painted white and with a few photos, paintings etc. There is one largish comfortable but vaguely modern bar, another smaller bar, a dining area and a more discreet snug-like entrance hall with tables and chairs. The larger bar especially shows signs of the pub's makeover during the Fox-Morrisey regime, a laminated floor, a curvy, cloth panel covered bar counter, and grey woodwork. The pub now has new managers who hopefully will make it less restaurant and a bit more village pub. On my lunchtime visit there were a number of middle aged diners but only one barmaid doubling up as waitress, still it's early days for the new people. Six handpulls, with four in the larger bar and two in the smaller, Taylors Landlord, Black Sheep Bitter, John Smiths Cask and Copper Dragon Best on sale. My Landlord was in excellent nick. There is a small range of UK kegs from Guinness, Fosters, and Becks (Vier). A sign at the entrance requests customers to remove sports caps and hats before entering.

Tastefully refurbed to feel like a quaint homely cottage. The "Mulled Ale" is to die for!! The food is excellent, the best I've had for a long time. Well done Morrisey & Fox!

This pub is now open and they are already brewing and at the moment sell there beer in bottles at Tesco but will be selling it on draught

New owners Neil Morrissey and Richard Fox have plans to renovate this pub and introduce a food offering.
A Micro Brewery might also be added.
