More of an eating pub so typical of many pubs in the district. Tastefully redecorated from one of the four pubs that used to grace this double village, there is just one other now. Modern styled with red walls, stone flags and a nice patio at the back. The toilets have posh soap and in a sure sign of an upmarket establishment there is no smooth on the bar. There are four handpumps with some well kept beers from local breweries, along side a cider and a lager. We visited when it was quiet and the professional staff were quite chatty with a bit of banter.

“We serve drinks, we serve food and people can stay. It is a real reflection of what the British Inn was, and is, all about”
Michael Ibbotson, The Publican's Publican of the Year 2011' & co-owner

The Oak Tree Inn specializes in bringing its customers high quality food, drink, service and surroundings, including a superb private dining room for larger parties of 16 to 20 and six en-suite bedrooms. The classic British menus showcase the best local produce available from carefully selected suppliers as well as stocking an extensive range of wines and cask ales.

The Oak Tree is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

This pub is well worth a visit. It has an excellant menu with tasty food, a good range of cask ales changing every fornight, a wide range of wines and soft drinks. It has recently under gone an extensive refurbishment creating a fantastic out door area, encorporating a large decked area with grave garden with fountain. I tlooks fantasic in the summer and the new landlord and landlady are very friendly and welcoming.

Families are welcome and they have a large carpark to cater for coaches.

If your in the area make a visit.
