A £6.5 million retirement complex which could create 120 jobs is to be built on the site of a former York pub.
Retirement living specialists McCarthy & Stone plan 28 apartments as well as communal facilities and gardens at Top Lane in Copmanthorpe, where the Fox & Hounds pub used to stand. The plans have been unanimously approved by City of York Council.

I recently went to a private function at this pub. I shall not return and shall most certainly never recommend this pub. Understandably they were asking for ID from anyone looking underage. At first I didn't have ID so didn't get served. Fair enough. I later retrieved my ID and my friend bought me a drink. Next thing the manager comes and snatches it out of my hand, spilling it on me telling me I am not old enough. I show her my ID and she tells me it is fake. She then refused to serve me even soft drinks. Absolutely disgusting service which doesn't even deserve one star. Since she was the manager I suggest she get her eyes tested and go on a course to learn what a real, valid driving UK licence looks like.
