Graham Coombs left this review about Edinburgh Arms

A large pub with a fairly plain interior - reasonably tidy but all a bit soulless and feels like it is stuck in a timewarp from not necessarily a good time. It does have regular live music, sports TV and even a dartboard but otherwise nothing much to attract. Not least on the beer front, with no cask and a keg Black Sheep as the best option.

A large two roomed pub which was absolutely heaving on our Sunday, late afternoon visit. Football being shown to a fair sized crowd in the taproom where there's also a dartboard. A live band playing in the lounge to an even bigger crowd. Pretty good they were too. No cask ale here just standard keg, but they were certainly selling a lot of it.

Old Boots left this review about Edinburgh Arms

Two roomed basic locals pub with public and lounge bars, the public is slightly less well appointed and a bit smaller, it has darts and a screen. It is painted in the traditional white walls with red wainscoting. There was a band setting up in the lounge, seating here is banquettes rather than the sparse tables and chairs of the public, and there’s at least some decor. Both rooms are carpeted, I remember when a lot of pubs were like this. Usual national names on the T-Bars, no cask beer. A poor welcome and worse beer even for keg, means there’s no reason for me to return.

Alex Conway left this review about Edinburgh Arms

A pretty smart looking pub from the outside, the Edinburgh Arms is a very locals type place off the beaten track for most tourists. While not welcomed with open arms visitors are not discouraged but may gain the odd stare from one or two regulars as we did on a Tuesday evening visit but nothing malicious I just suppose the generally dont see many new faces.

The pub has two rooms the main bar with a lot of space with a pool table and many tabels and a smaller side room with a television and darts board. The decor seems very dated and dilapidated and in some serious need of restoration.

Four hand pumps were on the bar but only two were in use at the time with Leeds pale and doombar both setting you back £3.20. My leeds pale was averagely kept but nothing near its best while the Doombar was in better form.

This was a very average pub with a local following that keeps things ticking over but nothing special enough to warrant another visit, if some money was invested in sprucing it up a little and improving its drinks selection I could see this being a very popular place, not bad for a pint but leave it at that.

Empty at 2.30 on a Friday afternoon,Its pretty much a big empty room with a pool table and some basic chairs and tables set out along the side wall, there was a set of drums placed next to the wall to our left as we walked in presumably for some live music that evening although I didn't spot any posters to that effect, a TV screen was on with something showing on the History Channel .Two beers on Half Moon Equinox and Leeds Pale leaving two vacant pumps, the Equinox was fine.I didn't take to the pub as we found it, maybe its better with a few customers in,as it stands I won't return.

Called in as we have a friend who will be booking a stay here later in the year and we wanted to see where it was. Very sporty with football programmes all round the walls from teams of all divisions. Pool table and darts and TV's for sport to keep sports fans happy. Tried the Theakstons Lightfoot and Jennings Cumberland, both in good condition. They have John Smiths cask as their regular beer.

Soup Dragon left this review about Edinburgh Arms

A detached white rendered Georgian ‘town house’ looking hotel, restaurant and pub, with front extension and patio.

The interior has two rooms, to the left and right of the main entrance. We went into the room on the right, which is a bar/lounge. The décor is red and cream, with tartan curtains and blingy carpet and there is a pool table and dart board. Sporting pictures and old programmes cover the walls and big screen TVs were showing football. There was no music. The service was fine, with a mixed clientele.

Beer; tap stuff with John Smith’s Cask, Roosters Yankee and Rudgate Viking Bitter, the last two being fine.

A sporty place really, one to go with mates to watch the match and play pool, which does at least serve real ale, but nothing really to go out of your way for.
