Much as before, Punch or their successor don’t like to spend money that belongs in shareholders pockets on pubs. Four pumps only in the left hand lounge, Doombar or Bradfield Farmers Blonde, I thought the Doombar was dodgy but nah just average. Only lagers on the T-Bars etc which was slightly odd, didn’t see a Guinness tap either. I hadn’t noticed the cooperage pictures as decor in the public before.

A traditional town local in the market place, with a lounge and rear dining room to one side, and a public bar with a dartboard to the other. To the rear is a garden and small car park accessed from the road behind. Draught ales at time of visit were Bradfield Farmers Blonde and Doom Bar, while the food was traditional pub grub, a little basic but quite adequate.

A traditional two bar layout with a more basic public bar on the right and a lounge to the left. The bench seating in the lounge is fully upholstered whereas in the public it's just the seat that's upholstered, there's also a dart board in the public along with a collection of trophies and a more limited choice of beer, two handpumps with Bass and John Smith's Cask. The carpeted lounge has four pumps and serves Pedigree as well as Bass and JS Cask, the fourth pump had a reversed clip but it might be Old Rosie as this is advertized on a couple blackboards in the lounge. The juke box and big screen are also in the lounge and there's more in the way of decoration in the form of various pictures and photos. The beer was extremely cold but otherwise inoffensive. Older punters mainly eating but there were some old boys in the public bar enjoying a beer.
