No doubt there are some people who like Ember Inns pubs. I've never eaten in one, and to be fair the few times I've popped in for a beer, the quality has been beyond criticism. But I just don't feel comfortable in them: they're just not for me. I must admit to a moment's surprise and pleasant anticipation on entering here, as there is a row of 11 hand pumps on the bar (see photo - count them!). However, on closer inspection the majority had small adverts replacing the pump clips (things like "coming soon", "£2.49 a pint Mondays" and "20p off a pint for Camra members") and in fact there were only three beers and a cider available. Westons Old Rosie, Wychwood Hobgoblin and the twice present Abbeydale Moonshine I declined, and went for Black Sheep Ember Pale Ale. In fact I asked for a half of Black Sheep, and the lad behind the bar said "you mean the Ember?" Well trained, but a bit pernickety, as there's a whacking great sheep's head depicted on the pump and the beer is clearly the Best Bitter 3.8% with the hops tweaked a little. It was in good condition, but I'd prefer it untweaked, if at all possible. And as I only had a half, I didn't qualify for a Camra member's discount! Can't say I'll be hurrying back any time soon.

The Robin Hood is a large pub at the southern edge of Sheffield in the millhouses area.
Once inside here the pub has been opened out into one large room but there are lots of different drinking areas, the pub is well furnished with carpets throughout and comfortable seating.
There were four real ales on the bar i had a drink of Taylor Landlord which was a very nice drink the other beers were John Smiths cask, Tetlet bitter and GK Abbot.
This pub caters mainly for people going out for a meal and a drink and the signs says it serves food untill 9.00 at night.
