This is what an estate pub should be like. A well designed building in local stone and local style, smart decor and comfortable seating, a good atmosphere and a friendly welcome. We found the beer, the normally excellent Old Brewery Bitter, just a bit too cold for our liking, but that's really the only gripe. In a Sam Smiths pub you don't expect a choice of real ales, and while we were only really here as part of a crawl around some of Sheffield's farther flung real ale outlets, we didn't regret our visit at all.

This is a modern pub that is stone built and looks like it is a lot older than it is.
The Old Mother Redcap is in the bradway area of Sheffield and it is a Samuel Smiths tied house, once inside this pub is quite smart and was fairly busy on my visit.
There was one real ale on here which was the very cheap Samuel Smiths Old brewery bitter and this was a very nice drink.
This pub was comfortable and i would have happily stayed here all afternoon.
