Will Larter left this review about The New Inn

A pleasant stone-built village local that still retains that village feel even though the area around it is now more of a suburb or housing estate. The two rooms retain a distinct character, the smaller public bar to the left has plain white walls and a few racing photos, with a small bar in one corner. The larger lounge to the right extends further back and is smartly furnished, with upholstered banquettes, a TV and a very smart wooden bar which is half the length of the room.

There are six hand pumps shared between the two bars, two in the public (Kelham island Easy Rider and Wells Bombardier) and four in the lounge, where there were three beers on when I was here. These were Tetleys Bitter, Timothy Taylor Landlord and Copper Dragon Golden Pippin. So, nothing for beer tickers then, but my pint of Tetleys was in very good condition and only £2.60. There were a few locals here on my late afternoon visit, but any potential hum of conversation was drowned out by Noel Edmonds on the TV.
