A Marstons pub on the hill to the west of the small centre of town, this is a building in local stone with a multi-roomed interior still detectable although doors have been removed long since and there are now pillars and arches with stone-cladding painted grey. There are four hand pumps on the bar, but only Pedigree and Hobgoblin on. The Pedigree was in good condition, and quite a bit cheaper than the other two pubs I did in Oughtibridge on this visit. The walls are covered with numerous pictures of hares (and rabbits) and hounds, plus old photos of the neighbourhood, including the former railway station. There's also an old Ordnance Survey map, showing all the old railway lines that used to crisscross the area. Fascinating stuff.

This stone built pub is in the middle of Oughtibridge.
I thought this pub looked fairly decent from the outside and was half expecting a drink of real ale here but i was wrong.
The pub is probably a Marstons house because there was keg Pedigree and also keg Mansfield bitter on the bar,the pub was fairly smart inside but was let down because there was no real ale in it.
