Old Boots left this review about The Pack Horse

Unassuming Victorian multiroom pub mostly plain decor and basic. 6 pulls but only 4 in use, with beer from Robinsons, Leeds, Landlord, and Titanic Plum Porter plus all the favourite kegs. Friendly with knowledgeable landlord and curious dog, but quiet on a Saturday afternoon visit: a great pub if the beer was a bit better.

sorry but the price of beer here is the going rate in student-ville. This is a lovely pub for its location with traditional very comfortable interior. there’s a lovely old fireplace and Tetleys mirror. Six real ales included the lovely Titanic Plum Porter and a friendly landlord who assured me it was ‘rammed on Thursday’ - no sign of that today though! I had a very relaxing time reading the complementary copies of the New Statesman. basically this is the pub for any students with taste.

An old established Pub that's been here for ever, selling a reasonable range of hand pulled ales. Not much as changed inside or out over the years and that's not necessarily a bad thing. It sits directly opposite Leeds University so it has a direct catchment area of thousands of students, I guess that's why they can charge £3.05 for a pint of bitter. My view of these rip off prices is that I will definitely give this place a miss and leave it to the youngsters from across the road.
