A promising looking pub on approach after just getting off the bus from Leeds. The interior definitely lived up to it's name with original oak panelling to be seen everywhere. I also especially liked the quarry tiled entrance, which was finished in three colours cream terracotta and black tiles. The pub also had some wallpapered walls, which was traditional and suited the interior of the pub. I noticed a decent looking room to the right of entrance which looked comfortable along with the fireplace. The central bar served both rooms and the lounge side had an elaborate looking brass handrail along the perimeter of the bar front, close to the counter top. This pub unfortunately lost a couple of points, due to the ale choice, which on our visit was Doombar and GK IPA.

The Original Oak is a decent looking stone built pub.
The front door was not open so i had to pass the doormen to the left.
Once inside there is a large single room which extends to the rear, there is also a small bar room to the front left which has comfy bench seating and chairs, the main room is bare boarded and has some high bench seating.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Leeds Best which went down well, the other beer was GK IPA.
Another pub that was packed on my late Saturday afternoon visit.

Made my way here for a beer and a burger before the rugby. When we arrived we discovered half the pub was shut.on entering the bar that was open the queue for service was beyond a joke so we walked out again and entered a nearby pub where we got served virtually straight away. Surely the management of this venue must have been aware that a local derby rugby match was scheduled to take place on a hot sunny summer's day resulting in a vast number of people being in the area. A missed chance for a big financial kill on their part!

truly a big beer garden outside while inside it's a long deep pub. On entering there are two bar counters one at the front with a couple of handpumps, GK IPA on one, nothing on the other, the other counter in the middle has just a few T Bars. Basically a souless, drinking barn designed to offend almost no-one and selling bland beers. Furniture is utilitarian leatherette and modernish tables and chairs. Several bouncers on the garden gate where you enter and leave to take care of the Runners.

Absolutely huge and amazing beer garden, so brilliant for afternoon supping in the two weeks of Leeds summer. They have recently started serving a couple of taps of draft and the local Camra branch have had a couple of meetings here as a result. Marston's Pedigree is a regular. It is in a very fervent student area so can be quite lively at any time of day. Food is of the cheap but acceptable sort, similar to Wetherspoons. Also on quite a few bus routes between Leeds and Otley with a stop right outside so very easy to get to. As with all pubs on Otley Road/Woodhouse Lane you will find Otley Runners in the evening and weekends in all sorts of fancy dress, except outside of term time. There are several TVs dotted about and several receptions so whatever sport you are wanting to watch should be on.
