Old Boots left this review about The Mexborough Arms

One of two village pubs currently (April 2023) open. At the eastern most end of this tasteful Leeds-York corridor commuter dorm’ but sharing a bus stop with the Fox, it’s brick built probably in the 1960s. Two bars, a smaller one with pool table to the left which was empty and perhaps closed when I visited, and an L shaped bar to the right. The main bar counter is in the angle with seating leading off in each direction. The two areas are distinct with the bit near the door having a more public bar atmosphere, with a tiled floor and screen while the longer area to the right has slightly posher furnishings and a carpet. Both bits have a few photos and drawings for decoration, more so in the “public”, the piped music is common to both. Two pulls in the main bar with an average Landlord and a Bradfield Farmers Blonde, not a favourite of mine so not tried. Usual kegs on a T-Bar and solos. Toilets and machines are housed in a vestibule behind the servery. There’s an on-site Indian restaurant / take away called Maisha; it’s located out back through the games/lavs vestibule.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Mexborough Arms

The Mexborough Arms is a fairly large pub with its own car park to the front.
Once inside the pub has two separate rooms,i had a drink in the lounge which was a decent sized oblong shaped room which is carpeted, there is comfy bench seating and normal tables and chairs, this room was quite busy on my late Saturday afternoon visit, the separate bar room is to the left, this room is smaller and also oblong shaped.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Leeds Pale which went down well, the other beer was John Smiths Cask.
Background music was playing and the TV was showing the Olympics.
I thought this was a decent pub to have a drink in.
