A relatively unspoilt pub, with a dark maroon colour scheme and some nice original features including stained glass windows revealing it was once the Royal Hotel. The separate bars were obviously knocked through at some point but retain a slightly different feel, with a pool table to one side and dining tables to the other Given the land it stands on is rapidly disappearing into the sea, it is unlikely to be much changed now. Mainly serving the nearby caravan park, opening hours are a bit limited: closed Monday and open evenings only except weekends but may be less in winter. Sadly trade is insufficient to keep the two handpumps in use, with keg Black Sheep the best option.
