Beautiful tiled exterior and entrance (an old M&B pub), though little of note inside which is open-plan with some exposed brickwork and modern wood panelling. Just one ale, GK Abbot which did at least come out relatively well. On a busy Saturday evening I was the only customer which was quite shocking given the location. Though the three large TVs showing Sport Relief which were competing with loud piped music (Kings of Leon's Sex on Fire always irritates me) perhaps gave an insight as to why I was sat in an empty pub. What a waste.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Royal Exchange

Attractive M&B tiled façade, with a church-style carved facing to the bar counter. Apart from that, most of the character has been stripped out from the 'L'-shaped room. Limited furniture but lighter decor than I was expecting. No other customers on a Thursday evening, so the only noise came from the sports TVs because the bored barman didn't look like he wanted to chat. Just one of the handpumps was working, dispensing a serviceable pint of Abbot (£3.00).

Obviously once a Mitchells and Butlers house, now run by Punch Taverns. This one roomed pub has a mosaic tiled entrance and the front of the bar counter has ornate carved timberwork. The customers were a mix of shoppers and local regulars. Two ales, Hobgoblin and Greene King.

Opposite a large car park in which dedicated disabled spaces have been eradicated. Reasonable entrance but the bar is narrow ,cramped and busy. No ale but the locals seem happy with the lager and Guiness. TVs show nonstop horse racing which has plenty of followers here amongst the mostly male customers.Compared with the lovely, old tiled exterior the interior was stripped out and is quite plain.
