Whilst on our journey back home, after a visit to The Three Kings Beer Festival, we called in at the Plough. It is a friendly, locals local. Populated with the good folk from within the locality. There were three ales on during our visit, but we didn't sample any because we were full to capacity from the aforementioned festival. It's probably not a destination pub, but it was a welcome pit stop on our journey home.

Despite the prime location by the bridge this one is pretty basic inside. A single L-shaped opened out room, pool table at one end and a couple of sofas at the other. On the late Sunday afternoon we called the friendly couple in charge were losing a running battle to keep the half dozen drunk, sweary, regulars sitting at the bar from driving away the passing trade. Like everyone else we got our drinks and sat outside to enjoy the view. We only had time for a quick one while passing through Upton; trust our luck to pick what may be its worst boozer. Soapy tasting Pedigree was the only ale on offer.
