Got to say I am a little disappointed by the fair and balanced reviews here, having had a good laugh at the tripadvisor ones.

Where the majority of reviews are titled "Rude Landlady" and give one star.

Its certainly unique :-)

We went on a Saturday evening. Only punters in was our group of four and we were under the watchful eye of the landlady. We were prepared, with half of our party having previously visited and told off for asking for a Rosé.

I was prepared with cash.

Through the door and an overbearing smell of cabbage. Tomorrows sunday lunch. One hand pull carrying the sign "cash only", the other offering Ludlow Best. This was in excellent condition.

3000 mugs hanging from the ceiling and on every shelf. The interesting bar surround proclaiming this Britain's oldest Muggery. A previously unknown sub genre of pub.

Slightly weird visiting such a quiet pub and you could see what the casual punter would be horrified.

I love places with character.

We paid a fleeting visit to Upton-Upon-Severn, we were spoilt for choice with the selection of pubs on offer. This pub has an intriguing display of mugs and clover emblems on the facade of the pub, which drew in us to investigate further. The interior is a little shabby looking, but your gaze is averted by the vast selection of mugs hanging from most of the ceilings. There are two separate areas, one for drinking and dining, the other for darts and pool. There was only one real ale on offer at the time of writing (Hobgoblin), but it was in good condition An old fashioned kind of pub, but worth a visit.
